SAFEchild Consultancy

Under child protection legislation you have a duty of care to children and this requires that you should have a child protection policy; a set of child protection procedures, that you implement these safely and that all your staff undertake appropriate child protection training.

For many organisations these requirements can be adequately met by SAFEchild's online products but for some, further consultation may be appropriate. We have an experienced team of child protection experts who are fully qualified and at your disposal. Regular work undertaken includes:

  • Setting your organisation's child protection strategy
Assistance and advice on the writing and developing of child protection protocols which can then be reviewed regularly to take account of new legislation and/or new knowledge on best practice. This normally takes the form of reviewing your child protection policies, procedures and practices prior to attending a meeting of the team responsible for your organisation's Child Protection Strategy. Includes detailed preparation and follow up.

  • Senior Management Team Briefing and Review
Participants will update their knowledge of legislation and guidance and learn how to conduct a thorough risk assessment of their current child protection practices. Includes detailed preparation and follow up.

  • Child Protection Policy and Procedures Audit
Review of existing child protection policy and associated procedures by Lead and Lay auditor, including full report, detailed assessments and recommendations for action and follow up.

  • Child Protection Head Office Audits
Comprehensive audit by Lead and Lay auditor. Includes full report, detailed assessments and recommendations for action and follow up.

  • Site Inspections/Random Health Checks
Unannounced health checks of your sites in line with child protection industry best practice. Includes full report, detailed assessments and recommendations for action and follow up.

  • Site Managers' Briefing
Full day briefing (or half day if online training completed beforehand) including a practical risk assessment of the venue if appropriate. Course size limited to 30 participants.

  • Induction Training Team Course
Full day briefing for up to 15 trainers based on our online Introduction to Child Protection course and the issues that may arise from supervising inductees taking the course.

  • Attendance at External Child Protection Meetings
SAFEchild attendance at specialist meetings including agency and strategy to support you and your organisation. Includes support before and afterwards by phone/email.

  • Child Protection Support
Provision of a helpline for expert advice on matters that are current or immediate such as disclosure or suspicious and worrying behaviour. Includes an annual review meeting.

Prices start from as little as £500 depending on your specific circumstances. For further details of any of these services please get in touch with us. We will be happy to discuss your requirements and how we may be able to assist you, at no initial cost to your organisation.
