January 26, 2010 - SAFEchild calls for more investment to recruit and retain social workers

SAFEchild was asked by the Essex Gazette to comment about the shortage of social workers. Social work can be particularly demanding and challenging, and the salary scales do not always reflect this. When asked by the press to comment about recent shortages in Essex, the charity highlighted the need for more government commitment and funding to attract and retain these highly professional staff across the country.
